Approximately 140–160 national teams compete in qualifying tournaments within the scope of WPSL divisions for a place in the finals. The finals tournament, which is held in late July, involves 16 divisional teams competing over a two-week period. The most recent Champion was the California Storm taking the National Championship Cup in Stillwater,OK 2024.
Summer 2025 will be the official relaunch of the tier under its new branding identity, WPSL Division II, the league’s second division in its pathway pyramid. The WPSL Division II structure is geared toward an introduction into the WPSL’s competition and standards while creating a true developmental pathway within the league’s historic platform..

Spirit Field opened in October of 2017. Spirit Field is home to the OUAZ Men’s & Women’s Soccer teams and the Spirit Football team.The 97,000 square-foot competitive athletic field for football and soccer was built to NAIA/NCAA standards and to host national competitions. General Acrylics of Phoenix installed AstroTurf’s Astroflect technology for the playing field. OUAZ’s AstroTurf field and Musco LED lighting are similar to the products used in the NFL.
The competitive athletic field, temporary locker rooms and storage space was completed in fall 2017. Permanent seating for 1,200 spectators at the athletic field was finished in time for the start of the 2018 fall sports seasons.
The opening of the O’Dell Center in the fall of 2019 completed the Spirit Field project and provided the facility with permanent locker rooms, the athletic training room and the Spirit Strength Center. The third floor of the O’Dell Center features coaching boxes, press boxes, event production and an entertainment area..
